The testing conducted by the FDA-registered food safety laboratory of the iconic American food showed alarming levels of residues of the weed killer glyphosate (aka Monsanto’s Roundup)
This chemical is, in fact, the active ingredient in the popular “Roundup” herbicide, which is commonly used by millions of people around their homes, in their gardens and yards.
Apparently, independent research indicates that potential harm to human health begins at really low levels of exposure – at only 0.1 ppb of glyphosate, and research has found numerous foods to contain over 1,000 times this amount!
It is scientifically proven that the consumption of glyphosate poses numerous health risks, including:
- Glyphosate is an endocrine disruptor, meaning that it seriously disrupts hormones and causes reproductive issues, obesity, early onset puberty, diabetes, and some cancers. Even its low levels are most damaging.
- Glyphosate has been linked to cancer and it is considered to be a potential human carcinogen by the World Health Organization’s team of international cancer experts.
- It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic which destroys the good bacteria in the gut. Poor gut health causes numerous diseases and inflammation.
- It binds with vital nutrients in the soil (such as calcium, iron, manganese, zinc) and prevents their absorption by plants.
Unfortunately, this dangerous chemical has been infiltrated in numerous aspects of our everyday living and environment, in the soil, water, and air.
With the introduction of numerous GMOs, the use of glyphosate has drastically increased. Yet, it is not used in GMOs only, as Roundup is used by non-organic farmers as a drying agent on crops.
Therefore, glyphosate contaminates both, GMOs and organic foods, and is even found in honey. Research conducted by the FDA showed that almost every single sample of honey tested contains this harmful chemical.
Hence, we can no longer be sure that even the organic, unprocessed food we consume is free of this poison.
Normally, Monsanto hides these facts, and they pay a lot of money to regulatory agencies to ensure that the truth won’t leak and customers won’t find out that they are being purposely poisoned.
This explains their attitude towards the effects of glyphosate and why they turn a blind eye to the facts.
In 2013, instead of regulating them, the EPA greatly increased the industry standard of the “safe” levels of this poison on our food, with the goal to make the high amounts used look all right.
The EPA constantly postpones the evaluation of the consequences of glyphosate and its link to cancer. They would rather profit instead of informing the public about the corrupt deeds of these corporations.
We are not protected by the FDA as well. They finally started testing foods for glyphosate residues this February, and they have just decided to suspend it.
Monsanto would do all it takes to hide their findings, especially after they found glyphosate in foods that should be especially safe, such as baby food.
Sadly, the media is also keeping this a secret, so we are the only ones who can reveal the scary corruption and protect ourselves. The first step is to avoid all non-organic foods, as the use of glyphosate is prohibited on organic crops.
Contamination is a threat indeed, but its levels are low in these foods compared to the ones in conventional foods. Keep your friends and family informed about these health risks, and set your health as the highest priority.
